Day 2A · Triage & Prioritisation
Triage self-assessment
Eight critical questions — the decisions that keep a patient from waiting when they cannot. Each answer comes with the reason.
During the session
The official pre-test and post-test
These two forms are how the programme measures whether the session worked. Use the same name or code on both. Nothing is used to appraise anyone.

Six things to leave with
- Triage is urgency — not diagnosis, not arrival order.
- ONSET questions, in order: A → B → C → D.
- Category 1: stop and treat. Category 2: move, and name a clinician now.
- Count the respiratory rate — never estimate it.
- Re-triage whenever the story changes.
- NEWS2 supports judgement. It never assigns the category.
